Detailed description of Stone Creek Country Club
Stone Creek Country Club is a private 18-hole golf course located in Sherman, Texas.
Stone Creek Country Club opened for play in 2009. The course was designed by Cal Olson.
Stone Creek stretches to 7,428 yards from the champion tees for a par of 72. The Course is located in Grayson County just north of the Metroplex in Sherman, Texas. This layout will remind you of a Classic Texas Hill Country Course.
Olson designed the course to take maximum advantage of the terrain and as such you find lots of ups and downs (both elevated tee boxes and greens), roller coaster and sloping fairways, lots of trees and natural areas, plenty of sand, and a creek and three ponds – all of which makes a round at Stone Creek Country Club both visually pleasing and challenging. The terrain is gently rolling and heavily treed.
$26 (cart included), played on Thursday, August 2011 at 2pm
Course has either 13 or 14 bent greens with the others being tiff due to the trees & lack of air circulation. Number of doglegs and elevation changes that make this course interesting. Well worth the time to play. Only issue were some condition concerns about certain greens and fairways but overall very playable.

Great course for the price. However, one staff member was rude when I asked him which way was Hole #1. He just pointed, never said a word, nor did he speak with a greeting of any kind. Found out his name was Cesar. So, it's best just to pay and avoid this kind of welcoming.
